Terrace The Terrace overlooks the Great Bath and is lined with statues of Roman Governors of Britain. The statues date back to 1894. Some were carved before the opening of the Baths in 1897. The Roman Baths were not discovered until the late nineteenth century. The view from the Terrace is the first view you have as a visitor to the baths, but what you can see from there is less than a quarter of the baths. The Roman Baths extends under ground level, beneath some
nearby streets, so many people are surprised when they discover the size of the
site. |
